Mount Aragats Safari:

Jeep tour to the western slopes of Mt. Aragats. Visit a mineral water spring, a waterfall, a mysterious site called “40 springs” and an early Christian chapel.

Birdwatching Tour:

If you’re interested in birdwatching, you may want to join our birdwatching tour in the Shirak region of Armenia, where over 100 species of birds have been observed. This tour takes place in two locations: Lake Arpi and Pemzashen village surroundings. Lake Arpi was recognized as Important Bird Area in Armenia, and in the vicinity of the village of Pemzashen, experts have spotted over 50 species of birds.

Some of the birds spotted in the vicinity of Pemzahsen: Ruddy Shelduck, Common Quail, Long-legged Buzzard, Saker, Green Sandpiper, Common Sandpiper, Common Cuckoo, Common Swift, European Bee-eater, European Roller, Eurasian Hoopoe, Syrian Woodpecker, Crested Lark, Eurasian Skylark, Eurasian Crag Martin, Barn Swallow, Water Pipit, White Wagtail, Black Redstart, Isabelline Wheatear, Northern Wheatear, Rufous-tailed Rock Thrush, Cetti’s Warbler, Common Whitethroat, Caucasian Chiffchaff, Great Tit, Western Rock, Nuthatch, Eurasian Penduline Tit, Red-backed Shrike, Common Magpie, Western Jackdaw, Hooded Crow, Common Raven, Common Starling, Rosy Starling, House Sparrow, Rock Sparrow, European Goldfinch, Common Linnet, Ortolan Bunting, Black-headed Bunting, Corn Bunting.

Climb Mount Aragats (western summit, altitude: 4000 meters above sea level):

Leave the guest house in the morning and take a 2-hour journey to the slopes of the western summit of Mt. Aragats. Start climbing the western summit, the climb up will take about 2 hours. On the way back from the summit, visit a mineral water spring and a waterfall, enjoying the picturesque mountainous landscape of this part of Armenia. Along the hike, you can collect thyme to make a delicious herbal tea later at the guest house.

Jeeping distance: 44 km. Hiking distance: 8 km.

Downhill Cycling from Mount Aragats:

Jeep transfer to the western slopes of Mt. Aragats. Downhill cycling to Stone Art Guest House in Pemzashen.

Distance: 20 km.

Hike to Harichavank monastery:

Hike from Stone Art Guest House to the renowned 7th-century monastery of Harichavank. Return to the guest house on a car.

Hiking distance: 6 km.

Hike from Pemzashen to Sarnaghbyur:

Hiking tour from the guest house to the village of Sarnaghbyur over mountains. Return to the guest house on a car.

Hiking distance: 10 km.

Cultural tour to Gyumri and Marmashen:

Enjoy a cultural to the city of Gyumri, the second-largest city and the cultural capital of Armenia. Discover the hidden treasures of Old Gyumri. After the city tour, visit the medieval monastic complex of Marmashen.

Duration: 6-7 hours.

Cultural Tour: Medieval Architecture:

A cultural tour to the 5th-century Church of Saint John in Mastara and the fortress of Dashtadem, the 7th-century Cathedral of Talin, Continue to the ruins of Yereruyk basilica, then visit a viewpoint to see the ruins of one of the ancient capitals of Armenia, Ani. Return to Pemzashen.
